Families and young kids are welcome and catered to. Gene's is exceptionally clean and it's an attractive atmosphere to have a quick, old time lunch, or a full and satisfying dinner. I HIGHLY recommended Gene's.
We try to stop by here whenever we're in the area. It's a wonderful gray spoon with a lot of fantastic pictures of famous people who have eaten here. It's always a treat!
Really good comfort food. Hotdogs with chili, mustard, and onion as good as I've had anywhere. Fried Pickles on the side made it a full meal. Homemade apple cobbler to top it off. Clean restroom and extremely friendly staff made the meal very enjoyable.
A monument to local fast food! This place has been around forever and it is always consistently good. Atmosphere is typical to a local joint that has been added onto a few times over the years. Not the most modern, or easy to navigate around in place. Just a place where you can be assured to get really good fast food. The Texas Burger Basket is highly recommended!
Roadside diner absolutely a must to visit. Chicken sandwich and fried pickles and homemade cobbler a most satifiying meal. They have a variety of foods for all to enjoy.
Wonderful trip down the 1950's road. Gene, the owner/operator, is there, as he has been for over 50 years, most of the time, and is more than willing to share his colorful history and that of his restaurant with you, in brief conversations. Most of the interesting decor has been acquired by Gene himself and he has stories for every piece, from autographed )photos of Presidents to picures of NASCAR greats, past and present. Food is outstanding "diner" fare and home made specials round out a great and satisfying menu of good eats. Hot Dogs to Collard Greens, steaks and hamburgers, Gene's got'em and everything in between. HOWEVER Gene's DOES NOT, serve BREAKFAST!
